Students who participate in personalized-learning programs may perform better on
computerized reading and math assessments, according to a recent study.
However, the researchers caution against
attributing the gains solely to such programs. Moreover, there remain practical and systemic barriers to
expanding programs that aim to tailor instruction to individual
students’ needs and skills.
