According
to a recent survey done by the Pew Research Center, public library
staff are spending a lot of time showing library patrons how to use
their new
e-book readers. According to one librarian, “It
takes a long time to explain and walk patrons through the downloading
process—about half an hour from start to finish most times—and we often
feel rushed at the public
assistance desk because there are often other demands on our time.”
Not to worry. By the time we master the latest technology, it will be obsolete.
